Memory Futures Inaugural Event
Since 1990, Berlin has been a symbol of a new Europe. Thirty years later, we need European solidarity and connection perhaps more than ever! So in June, Limmudniks from across Europe will gather in the heart of Europe and in the heart of Berlin for a weekend of learning and visioning.

Please note that we will not be able to extend a reservation for hotel rooms not confirmed by that day.
ONCE IN A LIFETIME
The gathering will be a symbolic new chapter in the history of Limmud, written down in chronicles as the launch of Limmud Europe as an organization. Limmud Europe will be a pan-European Jewish organization with a focus on creating synergies between Limmud entities in continental Europe and serving local Limmuds.
THE PROGRAM
Are you excited about innovative Jewish learning and community building in and across Europe? Would you like to see more communities / people following the Limmud Values as they build local Jewish communities? Do you want to connect with inspiring European Jewish leaders, thinkers and artists?
The gathering will be divided into two parts: the leadership gathering (Friday, Saturday, Monday) and a Limmud Berlin Day on Sunday.
The program of the leadership gathering will be centered around the present and the future of the European Jewish community e.g. the situation of Ukrainian Jews, the impact of sanctions on European Jewish funding realities, contemporary Jewish arts & activism in Europe… and more!
We will also jam together about our new Memory Futures Project, inspired by research examining the role of memory in imagination and future thinking. This project, co-funded by the European Comission, will encompass various pan-European Limmud events themed around bodies of water: Limmud Baltic, Limmud Danube or Limmud Rhine and enable presenters and participants to experience each other's Limmud events.
In a nutshell: This weekend will be filled with opportunities to get to know the European Limmudniks, network through joint workshops, celebrate Shabbat, go on urban walking tours exploring Jewish history and present of Berlin as well as mingling and learning at the Limmud Berlin Day on Sunday.
COST
The price for participation for the whole weekend is EUR 80. This includes accommodation in a centrally located hotel and vegan/kosher food for all 4 days.
We will also be able to offer generous travel contributions, aiming to keep your travel costs at about 50 EUR. For anyone needing further financial support, we will be able to offer additional assistance.
EXPECTATIONS
Come for a day or come for the weekend. Bring your ideas, questions or propose a session. Come with an open mind, creativity and readiness to learn. We will be assisted by interpreters (please let us know your needs via the registration form).
We expect to inspire and intrigue you. We expect to learn with you and from you. We hope that you will return home energized, invigorated and feeling you are an important part of an emerging, exciting, intergenerational, grass-roots, non-denominational, pan-European movement.
The event is supported by the Dutch Jewish Humannitarian Fund.
Co-funded by the European Comission.
