Аркадий Готесман


Arkady Gotesman is one of the most gifted and versatile drummers and percussionist  on  jazz stage, an internationally acclaimed performer of free improvisational music.

Arkady Gotesman is a drummer and percussionist of remarkable versatility and creativity, widely known performer of free improvisational music. Born in the Ukraine, he has lived and worked in Lithuania for the past 30 years and appeared in concerts,  performed solo.  For his performances he has often drawn inspiration from the poetry, theatre and dance.

He also performs contemporary academic music and appears at new music festivals, writes scenarios for musical performances and installations, composes music for theatre and plays it live during performances.

Arkady Gotesman’s more important recent projects include a film “The Meeting” about Lithuanian Jews (author of the idea, director and performer), drama performance “My Life” after the poetry of Marc Chagall (author of the idea and performer).

In 2009 he organized the Klezmer Music Festival in Vilnius – the first event of this kind in the Baltic States. Arkady Gotesman is a lector in Lithuanian Academy of Theather and Music.
